A COURTSHIP DANCE

Stills from a Courtship Dance is a series of Fine Taxidermy works with smaller exotic (rare) birds that suddenly seemed frozen during the lascivious work put into their mating dance. These works can be described as gracious, voluptuous or theatrical. Especially for this series Sinke & van Tongeren collected a special series of birds with some extraordinary features. Long bright tails, special patterns in the feathers, amazing colors, crests, beards and crowns. Everything is maximally exposed to charm the viewer. The antique velvet bases also emphasize the theatrical aspect. It is their stage to perform their dance for you.
